Question on J.A. Henckels Cutlery Sets?
I was thinking of getting my girlfriend a good knife set and I was wondering what the difference is between the Henckels knives made in Germany vs the ones made in Spain. The German ones are a hell of a lot more expensive and I was wondering if the cost is worth it.

As an old school housewife of low to middle class income, I have been for years ever happy and satisfied with my Case knives, and a ceramic rod. I can slice roasts, tomatoes and dice and chop with the best of them…if she is looking for fine quality Henckels is a good choice, Value wise you might do better on eBay…I have one of many different manufacturers picked up over my 66 years, Farberware /Sheffield are ok, I have a staghorn handled roast carving set inherited from my Father, German, of course…Japanese are also liked for their quality of blades. I have a very serviceable OLD FRIEND made with a saw blade eons ago by my father, which is my all around favorite for camping, Watermelons and other stuff requiring a long blade (homemade bread) but wipe it down with cooking oil after cleaning. Have you asked her what she thinks??? She may have a family favorite brand..Happy gift giving, Grandma Ellie in Florida
