Eating etiquette and its manners at first date with my girl.?
With the eating etiquette are the elbows suppose to be on the table?.. The sitting?… The cutlery usage?…and other manners i am to show to my heartly lover (girl) at first date. Help me.
No, elbows are never on the table. The other responses here were probably copied from somewhere else online. It is rather doubtful that you will be making use of fish forks (fish fork and knife are not the custom in well-bred society; two regular forks are used, but are you really going to have a formal meal? I doubt it).
You will most likely go to a to a restaurant with the some utensils on the table. You will probably have an appetizer, soup, main course (not to be confused with an entree) and dessert and coffee. If salad is served, it ought to be at the end of the meal, but do not issue orders to the waitstaff. Eat it when it is served.
Bread is broken off in single bits and buttered – or not – before eating. Butter is spread onto the surface of the bread plate. Actually, in many well-bred families the bread is put on the table cloth to te left of the plate. Butter is smeared onto the right rim of the plate and spread on each bite of bread as it is eaten.
Etiquette is something learned through being brought up that way and through long experience. It is impossible to explain all in a post. The best advice is to be yourself and not to pretend or put on airs.
